Michael Nasr is currently a Master of Translational Medicine program candidate through the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences at UC Berkeley and UCSF. He completed his B.S. in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley, where he received the Cal Alumni Leadership award for his involvement on campus in leading the Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship Association and the Berkeley chapter of the global health outreach organization MEDLIFE.

At Berkeley, he taught a class focused on global public health and the challenges of providing healthcare in rural regions. His primary interests lie within regenerative and preventative medicine particularly in areas of neurology, diagnostics, and global health outreach. As an undergraduate, he worked on a project to create low-cost infant screening devices in order to decrease infant mortality. After graduating from UC Berkeley, he worked in the Operations Professional Development program at Abbott Laboratories, gaining experience in blood glucose monitoring, medical optics, molecular diagnostics, and percutaneous vascular repair.

Now at UCSF, he is a member of the Sarwal Lab working on the development of a non-invasive assay device for early detection of acute rejection in kidney transplant patients.
